GLAD TIDINGS CHURCH is the church missing on Church Street at the Cemetery.. It serves the community as a Protestant Church of differing denominations since 1863.- It was moved – as many other buildings in town were -- downtown early in the 1900’s. Acclaimed as a “lasting and excellent example of Greek Revival architecture,” Glad Tidings Church stands as an excellent example of the definition of an “historic resources” in the heart of the “Historic District of the San Juan Bautista, City of History.” [Just as Carmel by the Sea is the official name of Carmel; so is San Juan Bautista City of History—adopted in 1928.]
