Getting
Kids Excited About Writing
MMPublishing
would like to thank 7th graders Racheal, Abby, Ashley, Michael, and Caitlen
for their individual comments on the benefit of Mr. Longoria's teaching
style.
Rachel says: I am terribly
sorry to say I don't like Mr. Longoria's teaching style, I love it! His
class is my favorite, he makes it fun and interesting. My thoughts on
reading and writing have changed since becoming one of his students. I
love how Mr. Longoria incorporates his story telling into his lessons,
it makes me think of my own stories and I'm able to get ideas for my stories.
Abby says: I think Mr. L's
teaching is the best, he isn't like other teachers. My writing was influenced
by Mr. L and his teaching made me learn to write better. He always tells
the class about a book he is writing and that makes me want to read it.
He tells stories throughout his lessons, I think that this is the part
that makes people and students alike want to get to know him . . . and
more importantly be in his class. He's really funny too.
Ashley says: I like Mr. L's
teaching style alot. Why? Because he knows how to make the class fun while
we're working, he is the best Language Arts teacher. My thoughts on writing
have changed very much since becoming his student. He makes it easy and
fun, I love reading and writing now. Yes, I do like it when he incorporates
his stories into his lessons because he makes us laugh and have an even
better time.
Michael says: I think Mr.
L's teaching style is great because he has a good sense of humor and that's
alot better than a boring strict teacher. I never liked to read because
I'm not patient enough to get to the end of a book. When he writes stories
he makes copies and makes us read it. After that, we answer questions
including our thoughts. I think that's a good idea because he is also
learning ideas from us.
Caitlen says: I like the way
he teaches because even though it's work it's still fun. My thoughts on
reading and writing remain the same but Mr. L always reminds me of how
fun reading and writing really is. I do like it when he mixes his stories
and lessons together, it gets you interested in other things besides work.
