Stella Jean Siino and Joseph Coehlo United in Marriage
At seven o’clock last Saturday evening, Miss Stella Jean Siino was escorted down the aisle of St. Angela’s Catholic Church by her father, Angelo Siino. Waiting at the altar were Joseph Coehlo, who claimed Stella as his bride, and her brother, Frank Siino, who was the best man. Father Charles T. Kerfs officiated at the ceremony in the presence of several hundred guests. The bride wore a lovely white satin and lace gown, fashioned with a V-neckline, long sleeves and a long train. Inserts of lace alternated with strips of satin to the elbows, and lace to the wrists. Her four-tier veil, lace-trimmed, was held by orange blossoms, and she wore a single strand of pearls. Gardenias and bouvardia formed the pennant-shaped bouquet carried by the bride. Mrs. Frank Magno was her sister’s matron of honor, and Miss Elvera Jean Seeno, cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Mercedes Coehlo, sister of the bridegroom, and Misses Florence Salomone, Alice Ingram, Mary Selbicky, Jeanne Del Monte and Madaline Di Mercurio, the latter two from Pittsburg.

They wore light blue water-marked taffeta frocks that were fashioned with long bodices, V-necklines, short puff sleeves and full circular skirts. Their elbow-length gloves were white, and they carried pennant-shaped bouquets of gardenias. Three fresh gardenias adorned their hair, and single strands of pearls were their only jewelry. Mrs. Angelo Siino, the bride’s mother, wore a wine-colored ensemble, with royal blue accessories and an orchid corsage. Mrs. Pedro Coehlo, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy redingote over a print dress, navy accessories and an orchid. A reception followed in the home of the bride’s parents. A handmade lace cloth covered the table, and the four-tier cake was topped with gardenias. The same flowers were arranged at the base of the cake, and extended to the crystal candelabra on the table. Arrangements of white blossoms adorned the other rooms of the home. When the newlyweds left for a southern honeymoon, the bride wore a beige dress with her brown fur coat, brown accessories and a corsage of two green orchids. When Mr. and Mrs. Coehlo return from their wedding trip, they will establish a home on San Carlos street in Carmel. Last Thursday, before the wedding, Stella was the guest of honor at a Hotel Del Monte luncheon party, given by her maid of honor and by Misses Jeanne Del Monte and Madaline De Mercurio. Gardenias in a low silver bowl formed the central arrangement on the table and while tapers were placed on either side. At each place was a tulle-wrapped package, adorned with sprays of valley lilies, which contained “confetti,” the Italian candy traditional for brides. At the honor guest’s place was an orchid, and a handsome silver tray.
Frank Siino (WWII veteran) apprenticed at the Monterey Boat Works and became a well known Master Boat Wright highly sought after to solve complex wood boat repair issues.
